the first time I heard my gpu making this weird noise is really annoying and worrying. all of my games runs fine and didnt experience coil whine except for sleeping dogs, i think the game is putting a lot of stress to the gpu and i am too worried to play the game again because of the noise the gpu is making(sad SD is a great game though).

is there some fix to this or just live with it?

it won't die because of the noise. can you post a pic of the coils? if they are open you could stuff them with some epoxy to prevent them from vibrating.

It's a normal thing, I had massive whine when I bought my 5870 especially when having high FPS or some menus where it would shoot to 4000 FPS.
Eventually it went away and now it's completely gone.
