GPU-Z causing system hangs

So i've recently added a second GPU to my system, for 280x + 7970 crossfire.
The 280x, regardless of crossfire seems to hang the system with GPU-Z running.

If i launch it before starting a game it seems fine, but if i alt tab out of a game or while a youtube video is running and launch GPU-Z, it hangs the system immediately.

have you tried an older version of GPU-Z, to see if its a bug ?.

Having a similar problem. While tabbed out of Life is Strange, when I click "Log to file", it crashes when trying to load my "Libraries" directory (by default) and won't let me choose an area to save the log. If I close Life is Strange, click the "Log to file" button, it doesn't crash. I can then browse to where I want the file, load the game, and then click "Save" and it'll start logging. Possibly a problem with the way it deals with that specific game, but it causes a crash all the same.

I had an issue on an older version, updated to the latest and it persisted. Forgot to record what older version i was on.

What happens if you uninstall the latest version, then run ccleaner in your reg.database then install an older version ?

i ran ccleaner, rebooted and havent had a hang yet... will let you know.

haven't had it happen on windows 10 ... yet ...

the card was actually failing, and had to be sent off for RMA. forgot to update this thread, sorry guys.

Seems like reading the sensors while it was transitioning between 2D and 3D states was just the quickest way to make it crash.
