Assasin - My board doesnt support 140w chips

but nice try, on another note have just checked my hd's in device manager and it says they are running in multi word dma mode 2...WTF never heard of it?

somethings defintely wrong, even with my old folding rig which has a 8800GS and a C2D 3Ghz GRID runs perfectly at that res with 4aa, what is the multisampling setting at exactly

Because it will take me twice as long to install that, install GRID...realise its still not working and then install xp :laugh:

TBH I want a proper gaming motherboard, one that will support phenom II's natively for when I upgrade and one that will run the phenom platform better because this one just isnt cutting it.

Why not save up the pennies and you have yourself a whore of a board. I don't think that will solve the problem though. Try another copy of GRID as well.

Your HD's should be at Ultra DMA Mode 5 or 6, so go into the bios and set them both to that and see if that fixes it. Also maybe make sure your chipset driver's are installed.

will do mate, just get frustrated cause all I really use the PC for is gaming and internet so when it messes up on my games its very annoying.

My studder like that happen in Grid and only also. But that had to do with this.. My SLI set up was to much for the Power supply. I would test the PSU and see how it does... It never happened with anything but Grid, and that was due to the dramatic lighting that was going on in the game at certain times..

Erocker, that's why I stopped playing grid for a while... Couldn't take the fact that Grid was the only game that SLI just couldn't go with... What can I say, I'm a system hogger! :roll:

Well an update for you....my tower has been stolen

Live in a shared house, my girlfriend and I got back from work today and its gone along with a whole load of other stuff....but get this, they never took my new monitor - why - I dont know, but anyways I'm gonna be selling it on here...its less than a week old and its a nice 20"Samsung. Perhaps the gits who took my computer will have more luck getting GRID installed

Guess I need to plan that new computer now Pepper.

I heard hatchets were good for solving problems with thieves. I think you should get planning if you have teh monies. Also make it heavy so no-one can carry it away

Yeh, a nice big old HAF with a full water setup in it.At least we still have my girlfriends lappy which she takes with her to work, thats what I'm on now....just looking at some good weapons sites. I have a baseball bat already and I might just attach an old AMD heatsink to the end just for good measure.
