I just bought an Intel SSD 530 Series 240gb hard drive to install 8.1 pro and GTA V on. :toast:

I'm ready for work to be over and get back to the hotel!.. My wife is going to kick my ass.. lol But hey I could use that too.. I've been a bad boy! lol

Someone said it has a built in FPS counter. I'm using Afterburner and have it showing FPS, Memory usage, and Temps. I had to move the counter from it's default location to the right side of the screen.

Got an odd bug. All shadows and fx/ao disappeared for some reason and everything looks flat heh. Restarted the game and ut went back to normal.

anyone tried that chop app? Doesn't support my phone :/

In my specs so far, it looks like a slightly better looking gta4 but witg a conistently smooth framerate. Guess u need em 290x or 970 to at least use downsampling and crank up more details to max. Or i could play at console 30fps but with cranked ip details hmmm (using a 2+ year old gtx 660 oc)

Also still annoyed at that dof. Its good that it hides the distant shimmering but it pops up close from time to time and its Annoying. Not to mention it gobbles additonal gpu cycles.

Wow, so far I have to give it 9/10

Using a little over 6GB of my RAM, 2.5GB of vmem

With my specs its pushing the CPU harder than the GPU but its still maintaining a solid 60FPS, occasionally it hits the high 40's when I enter an area that I haven't been before but once I look around it jumps right back up to 60. I have everything enabled but AF on shadows, Very high on everything that supports it, dropped AF to 8X and its looking amazing, and play is very fluid.

My only gripe if any is a small issue with the physics, but it is GTA and more fantasy than reality, but it took a bit of getting used to driving muscle cars. Using a 360 controller, tried some first person with KB/M and it is very good too, when I get serious about playing its going to be a huge difference from the other GTA games.

I still would not pay $60 for it, but as I said I didn't buy it (I did but as a gift) but I would pay $40 for it on sale if you can get it. I hope it is crappy tomorrow so I can get in and out of work to spend more time playing. Have to get a headset if I want to do teamspeak with you arseholes

I had a lightening storm at night once.

It was so impressive in quality that I stopped in the middle of the highway just to watch the strikes off in the distance.

Also Steam now has a built in fps tool that you can turn on under downloads (I think).

I finished up installing everything last night and even played a little bit before bed... But word to the wise if you decide to re-install your OS then manually back up your game saves (located in your Document folder).. You would think this game uses steams cloud storage to save your progress.. but no. Since I was just installing a new SSD I had all my files on my old drive, but it's not like I wouldn't have replayed it... lol

EDIT: Oh and going from Windows 10 preview to Windows 8.1 pro everything is back to solid 60fps.

Yea, I was thinking that as well, but no even after I login to the Social Club my game save wasn't there. I move the Rockstar fold in my documents folder from my old drive to the new one and it was back. There's two folders inside the rockstar folder. One for GTA V and One for Social Club. You can see the config and backup files inside the GTA V folder. :toast:

Hopefully, they patch it to where steam cloud stores the backup later. I figure this would be useful info for anyone wanting to switch drives.
