All i get is a script hook v critical error with a load of supported versions?

Hmm, I haven't tried the game yet with the latest trainer, but I never had that error.
I will try it within an hour or so.

@scevism I just tried GTA V with the latest trainer and it's working fine, I'm getting no errors!

Do you have the game on steam?
If so, check the file integrity of GTA V on steam.

Have the retail version i take it thats all i need to dl is that script hook and copy into game folder?

I always copy all 3 files from the .zip bin folder to the GTA V game folder.
It has always worked for me!

Edit: It should work if your game is updated to the latest version.

With a retail version I thought people need to download a part of the game from steam as well?
Or not?

Anyway, hope it will run without any problems after the re-install!

Thats strange because:

General/ Miscellaneous – PS4, Xbox One, and PC Only

• Fixes have been implemented to improve game stability and performance for both Story Mode and GTA Online.

I also get a small stutter now and then, only had 1 large stutter yesterday 1st time.
Usually the game runs smooth at a locked 40fps on my system.
Did you try with vsync on/ locked framerate?

I can only tell you that and I'm still on the GTA V driver.

Didnt know that people had issues after the latest patch, if so as you say, I'm sure rockstar will bring out another patch soon.

Edit: I don't use any mods btw, only using script hook trainer.

disabled NVIDIA hd audio

played gta in online mode and changed my settings to default works like a charm

You should be able to run GTA V high/very high (just texture quality a little lower) with your GTX960 if you have the 2gb version.
I have it set to high/very high using about 2600mb vram with my GTX770M 3Gb.
I have the game locked at 40fps which is overall smooth gameplay for me.

Edit: If I don't lock the framerate it fluctuates from 37~60fps which is not smooth.
Also I have always adaptive-vsync enabled in the Nvidia control panel.

By the way the game works now I was just bug tracing to see what killed my fps :-]

my texture quality is normal (everything else is high or very high) it adds about 900 mb extra for high/very high :/

Thats at 1080p I assume, I would lock the fps at 50 then probably.
I probably buy a gtx960 4gb for a new system even though people say 4gb is useless with this card, well not for GTA V

The GTX 970 runs GTA V great, dont get me wrong. My situation is coming from somebody who mods heavily and is running into "game memory errors" - If you don't mod it runs GTA V great at 1080p.

Definitely don't buy a GTX 970 for GTA V(especially if you mod) I regret it now. Although my situation is unique since I have around 20 mods working in sync together, and let me say if I can play for more than 45 minutes in a single sit down then I am lucky. I am running into nothing but errors / crashes in the game. Usually a game memory error, which is understandable, considering the mods I use, however its odd at the same time because it just seems to happen for no reason. What I will end up doing is probably doing a fresh reinstall, it just sucks to do that though because I lose all the replaced cars in the game, along with the customized handling.meta / vehicle.meta data.

The way the VRAM behaves makes me think the Nvidia driver is restricting the VRAM to 3.5G. Pure speculation... but It would be interesting to see how a 980, 980ti or an R9 390 8G performed, if my game were transplanted into somebody elses files. That would be about 30 gigs of data though, so that could be hard. But still I think the results would be interesting. I am using a lot of HQ car replacement mods with regular in game cars, along with 4-5 add on packs adding 4-5 cars each in some case. When the game does not error out, it actually runs acceptably well at 45ish - 60 fps @ 5760 x 1080, even better @ 1920 x 1080. Would be very interesting to see what the average VRAM usage on a 980 is.

Never used it, happy with the speed of the car as is
