Hi, newbie here, so hello to everyone.
I have just purchased a nVidia GTS 250 1gb to replace my ageing ATI X1950Pro. The actual card I have is this one here http://www.cpu3d.com/review/7699-2/palit-geforce-gts-250-1gb-gddr3/specifications-and-features.html and when I bought it I was expecting it to have two DVI ports with a DVI-VGA adapter as I have always experienced in the past. However, as can be seen in the pictures in the link above, the card actually has one DVI, one VGA and one HDMI port. I have a dual monitor setup where my main monitor uses a DVI connection and my secondary monitor uses a VGA connection, so the graphics card connections are fine for that. However, if in the future I replace my secondary monitor with one that uses a DVI connection, I obviously wouldn't be able to use the VGA port so would I be able to use the HDMI port with a suitable adapter. I know that you can use an adapter to go from a DVI output to a HDMI input on a monitor or TV but I didn't know if you could go the other way as would be required here.
If anyone has any advice on this I would be very gratefull.
Regards
Russell
