[WTB][US] GTX 780 Ti upgrade

Looking to upgrade my GTX 780 Ti. Looking for performance levels of at least a GTX 1070 (with my 780Ti OC'ed to 1.2 GHz, it's not far off from a stock 1070 FE aside from the lack of VRAM). I don't have a preference between AMD or Nvidia. I'm also not against something like a 980 Ti either. I game at 2560*1600. Let me know what you have available. Would certainly aim for 1080 or up @ 2560x1600. The 1070 will be low in the VRAM bandwidth department at that res, sooner than you'd like probably.

I don't game enough these days to justify the cost of a 1080, unless someone want to give me a really really good deal.

Mining is still affecting prices, so a decent card is going to cost $400-700. Basically, the GTX 1070's are going for the same price, new or used. The 980 Ti's are going for ~$300-350, so you may be able to find something there. It is rumored that the GTX 1070 Ti will be out on the 20th, so I would recommend waiting for that, especially since I see it as a GDDR5 GTX 1080. And there's really nothing on the AMD side, unfortunately.

This is another reason to take a long look at the 1080 now that its still available. Mining has made it a much more interesting card if you 'have to' upgrade. Overpaying for a 1070 is something I'd not do too quickly, but yes, a 980ti will probably perform equal or even better at that resolution, while costing less. The 980ti will be better utilized, wider bus and equal core suits your res.

I'm in same situation, 900euro on ASUS 1080Ti Poseidon or waiting Volta Poseidon.
I never liked any Poseidon so much as this model, special looking card from side, she look so wild and even amateur recognize that's important and vital part of PC... and ASUS could freely use same type of cooler and shroud for big Volta.
I would never pay 800euro for 1080 or 2080 and later Ti to cost 100euro more.
My GTX780Ti default work on 1215MHz Boost.
Maybe I made mistake when I didn't bought EVGA TITAN X SC Maxwell for 450 euro before 2-3 months.
Still in warranty. But I compared TITAN X Maxwell with GTX1080Ti and fps difference completely change my mind but maybe I made mistake.
I could install TITAN X SC and I would had enough money for watercooling, that's my dream and I always find something more important.
It would be nice to win some giveaway with EKWB parts or Aquacool. X-Res Revo, Supremacy EVO, Coolstream 280mm, Nothing fancy with acrylic tubing, soft are cool enough...
and it would be much easier to invest in GPU block only. For Poseidon I don't need him, I save 100 euro instantly. And he is more attractive than conventional full cover water blocks we used to look last 3-4-5 years.

I saw 1080Ti Poseidon on same motherboard as mine RVE and watercooling and look amazing. Something as Imagine my PC.
I afraid most If I wait ASUS will change something radical on big Volta Poseidon. And they shoudln't done that... Watercooling block and look from side should stay, they could change some details on top of shroud, maybe something inside LED screen, but waterblock should stay as now. No need to change effective cooling for similar type of board and only new generation of chip. But if NVIDIA decide to use HBM they will change everything.

I might be temtped to sell my old EVGA Titan X monstrosity I have. (Literally a EVGA Titan X GAMING with a kinda beat up Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV heatsink + ziptied on dual Corsair ML120s). She's a little tiny bit better than 1070 level performance. But I'd have to have a good offer. I'd say like $325.00 is as low as I could go.

Despite how it looks, it's not been used for mining. I just used the "miner-ingenuity" to fix it when it's heatsink fans failed.

Feel free to shoot me an offer if you are at all tempted. It'd be cheaper than a mainstream 1070 but I'm afraid not by much, given the market. It's also big (like a 4 slot card), ugly, and consumes a lot of power. Still, it's solid and isn't going to die anytime soon.

And it does have dat 12GB of VRAM, and is a pretty decent clocker.

I can send pictures if you're interested. It's a solid (if amusing) card.

Can include username if needed later... forgot this time around but as I am not the seller thread maker (and my rig has been shown here before) I figure no biggie.

Remember, my rig is a "quietness / cable management be damned" arangement that is set up with super loud blower fans, but the Corsair ML120s can be very quiet as well. Minus some warped heatsink fins, she is very configurable between quiet and noisy/high performance. The fans just hook up to a fan controller or mobo header.
