some BF3 or BF4 benches would have been nice too...

some of the games here either arent very well 'optimised' at all such as watchdogs which suffered from serious performance drops when it first launched though its probably been fixed now. Thief 4 & BM:Origins are hardly demanding titles. Thief 4 in particular fills a rather 'niche' market as there were many who disliked the new 'reboot' and wont play the game..... Hardly a mainstream game.

Some more relevant benchmarks for more popular games would have went down better.

but thanks for these results - I guess i'll wait till people start pawning off their 780Ti's on the secondhand circuit and see if i can grab me up some fat loots though the 4GB does sound HIGHLY appealing to me for future games.

they do actually ... for 5-10% off maximum (not like the 290/290X who you can find under 250chf where i am) ... since they want to cover the full price of the 970/980 with the 780Ti resell ...

on a second look ... almost tempted, now that i am totally free of any debt, to go 970SLI or 980SLI before the end of the year or just add a 2nd 290 and get a better PSU for it ... (or get a ASUS 290X Matrix Platinum ... they are dirt cheap now ... )

I say these benches the whole day many hours ago at euro sites, then checked the chinese source and they were slooooow, all these westeners visiting

There are already some german shops that sell 780ti at huge discount but no real stock... I am selling my own stuff locally. )

Now what really makes me nervous is that apparently the NDA is away TODAY and reviews should pop up NOW! W1z must be locked up in his mancave!!!!

Is GTX 980 awesome or just some pimped up speed cannons?

I think this card may turn out to be the gfx equivalent of an old school British sports car. Truly awesome under it's ideal conditions but prone to sluggish performance at other times.

Awaiting data input from our techno shaman W1zz.

Games we need more GPU power it only nets 5-10% improvement, games that need no improvement it gains 20%.

Benchmark games seem to be optimized. Look at the temps, I wonder if Nvidia users will laugh at a few more degrees for the 290X again, or realize for the die size heat flux is an issue requiring more costly cooling.

It will be interesting to see official reviews for, but if this is accurate its not worth an upgrade for existing 7xx users unless they are benchmark queens.

damn, power consumption is now much lower and sweet spot for gamers. but in benchmarks 8970 vs 780 almost similar. infact 780 still leading in some gaming benchmarks.
