Hi,

I have bought a GTX ti 980 Gigabyte!

The card seems stable and is doing well BUT i found out 2 issues that really has put on Wondering!

According to GPU-z my card while i have my monitor at 4K and watching video is running at 56 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no overclock)

while the monitor is on without anything going it is running at 42degrees (my previous gtx 780 asus was running at 32degrees).

at 4k gaming i can play Farcry 4 without any issues and with amazing settings.

My biggest problem though is that according to GPU-z my card is NOT supporting OpenCL! is that possible?

my ASIC score is 59.7% does that mean my seller (an online shop in Germany sells faulty cards?) otehr than this i am very very happy with the card

I don't see a problem here temps wise, the fans start spinning around 50 or 60 degrees on these cards. Your ASIC score might be low since this card is probably already overclocked out of the box.
About the OpenCL I'm not sure.

I haven't had any luck either...I'll address what You've mentioned in the OP...
#1 Your temps are a Bit high, but Video @ 4K is gonna use a bit more CPU core than lesser resolutions , so a higher temp is to be expected. If your comfortable with it, You could reseat the Shroud on the GPU, and re-apply some Thermal compound.
#2 Your ASIC score is NOT an issue, there are NO guarantees when it comes to ASIC (KINGPIN ASIDE), So this too, I wouldn't worry about.
#3 That leaves Your concern about he "openCL" I havent owned an Nvidia GPU in a while(so trouble shooting is out,as is my experience with the cards) but this isn't something I would put much thought into either...Run an openCL dependant program, like VideoLAN aka VLC media player, im pretty sure it utilizes openCL for rendering , and see if it runs(justan example,im sure other programs exist that can utilize your openCL).But Im fairly certain this is ALSO something Not worth worrying over, I agree it isa odd, but Ive googled "openCL not showing in GPU-Z", and found others with the problem...I wouldn't worry, Gaming will not be effected. I would re-install drivers for the Card, AFTER doing a TOTAL removal of ALL video drivers, and see if that helps, but Im pretty sure no significant issue will arise from this,Im guessing its a bad reading.

Good Luck

P.S. I just launched GPUZ to see if Yours is up to date and I got an OpenCL read error too O_O ... never happened b4. but Mine still shows.weird.maybe try another monitoring program to see openCL status as well, possibly Nvidia control panel? AIDA64? etc.. look HERE, maybe there is some info .

If you have the »Gaming G1« edition it uses semi-passive cooling.

This means that the fans only turn when the card reaches certain temperatures.

The Windforce logo starts to glow when the fans are spinning and the card is under load.

ASIC doesn’t mean much. It’s just another marketing term to sell cards at a premium.

I had cards in their low 50% that overclocked far better than their counterparts with a high 90% score.

Part of the reason for the higher temps is the passive cooling on that card. The card shuts its fans down until it hits something like 60-65 degrees Celsius. That is why your idle temps are up from the GXT 780 because it didn't have that feature.
