a friend of mine is going to sell his "GTX580 SLi" setup and he offered me a good price.
honestly I was planning on GTX680 but this "GTX580 SLi" costs almost like one GTX680!

So should I go with 2 580s or get a new 680? thanks in advance

580 sli is going to be ~ 10-15% faster stock to stock but take up twice the space in your case, give off more than twice the heat and draw more than twice the power.

while 250$ a piece is a great price for gtx 580's, I think there are more benefits to a single 680 than there are for 580 sli.

I think the cooler running 680 is going to end up having more longevity. The 5 series runs super hot and draws massive power.. Just the electric bill alone, is something to consider, with 2 gpus, pulling that much power, I'd think...lol

580's are mean, no doubt, but if you want the new toy, get the new toy..
"IF" you can find it...lol
