  • motherboard bios up to date
  • clean install of windows
  • motherboard chipset drivers up to date
  • all game and application patches up to date

What issues / bugs dose the gtx970 gigabyte g1 have ?

Are the issues / bugs driver related bugs ?

Are all games and applications the same ?

Have tested the vga card in another system [*If same issues] *raise an RMA

If absolutely have to make changes to the Vbios make two copies of the original [keep in a safe place] read up on Vbios image recovery

[Unless there is an issue with the vga card flashing the bios should not be nessasary and is not required.] On occasions vbios image updates are provided by the manufacturer on their web page [relating but not limited to memory timming tweaks; fan profiles]

Note: It is unwise to presume the PCB layout is the same even when a vga card shares the same model number; most manufacturers reserve the right to change this at component level or make revisions

Go here fill in full system specs and OS; this will help the TPU community to assist further

i don't have any problem (not any that i have discovered) but i tend to update the bios of VGA , motherboard and so on.
I always like to have the latest version installed

no point to upgrade the bios on the gpu unless it has problems.

You do realize in many cases over time production on GPUs can change components always keeping the newest bios can cause more problems compared to leaving it alone. A good example of this is XFX and their radeon GPUs they continue to make there aftermarket cooled/ overclocked cards cheaper and cheaper over time. So a bios for one doesnt work on another even when its billed as the same card.

Just leave the GPU alone otherwise you risk bricking it and voiding the warranty.
