So I have two netbooks in my household and, as most of you should know, they are quite terrible at Flash Video and HD content.

My question is would it be beneficial to buy one of those USB H.264 encoder/decoders to play HD content if I need it and Flash video? Would it actually work? Thanks.

It does not have a free mini-pcie, so no broadcom adapter ;) But it's the gateway LT3103u if that really makes a difference... 1.2ghz Athlon with ATI x1270.

to play HD content you can try SMplayer, it should allow you to play 720p videos nicely if you set it to DirectX but for flash, I don't know.

My Aspire-One has no issues with 720p video or flash. Try this, maybe it could work with your netbooks. As for flash, I don't know.
