Can a bad psu damage the pump on a h50.

The reason I ask is that the psu on my AMD955 died a slow death last night.
Put a Corsair 650 on to test the system and was glad everything worked, that was untill I ran speed fan and the core temp was 84c under full load. I stop crunching and rebooted to check temps in bois and it was still 78c.

    the board is a 880gm-ud2h
the old psu was a coolmax V-400 with a molex to 8pin motherboard adapter
    cpu is a stock AMD955
mem is Kingston 4g(2x2) 1333 at stock
no case but it is on a motherboard tray
    the H50 is push pull

could I have hurt the H50 or did I hurt the mobo with the gamble I made with this psu.

    Thanks.
    Michael B.

Bad power can kill anything, I can't think of a way to test the pump though in all in one setup like the H50 though.
