    think they started it up and got particles to move around the tube but i don't think they will do any colliding for another little while, must still be alot of testing to be done

    we talked about this in english the other day. my theory is I really doubt that this machine causes any serious threat. otherwise our government would be all over it.

    They actually have particle acceloraters just like this one just of a smaller scale. We will have a 0.0000000001% chance of dieing :laugh:

    yeah i've heard about it...it is very cool, my dad was telling me about it a while ago. ive been intrigued ever since.

    My dad has degree in physics by the way. :)

    oh yeah he is really into it. We must have talked about it for about 2 hours one night...he is very into it. He is also big on this collider. it sucks i dont live with him anymore...he is like a walking encyclopedia.

    They just tested proton beams in either directions, they didn't conduct collisions. So keep your "yay"s till October.

    Nice, I've been waiting for this, I'm anxious to see how things pan out. Something tells me it would be too easy if the findings there ended up validating the equations of M-theory, and all the riddles of the universe fall neatly into place, but every theoretical rejection leads to a new adoption, and the implications are staggering........
