hard disk driver

    hi, anyone know how can get hold of a driver fo the following disk:

    seagate barracuda 7200.9 160GB

    Harddrives don't require special drivers. They're all generic.

    my install requesting hard disk driver, is there a generic driver that should work for this drive?

    It probably asks for a driver for the controller, not for the hard drive itself.

    have loaded sc driver, this succeeds then goe son to ask explicitly for hd driver

    I'm thinking your SATA driver needs updating. Check out the link below for your drive and pick which Mobo you have for the updates......;)

    our storage controller is:

    Intel PCI SATA AHCI ICH8M-E/M

    could not find this on the list.

    Provide a screen print of your device manager. Hard drives do not need drivers, only the interface of the controller card. Also post what motherboard you have.

    I successfully get past sc part of install, then install asks for hard disk drivers.

    Ok, and do you know the Model of Motherboard you have? (Example: MSI, ASUS, Intel,etc.)

    It's the AHCI that's causing the issue. Disabling AHCI in the BIOS should eliminate the need for that driver.

    the hard disk is running off the SATA AHCI connection,
