For me an upgrade the cheapest possible so I would like to get a 775 motherboard able to have a duo or quad on it and ddr2-800. I have all the rest of the setup and even really old it would be already an upgrade to me heheh

Always wanted to get a QX6800 for my older 775 rig, ended up donating it.

It was a nice rig tho, with a 8800 Ultra.

Hope i can do a "retro high end" build in the future...

Don't go LGA775, or you will be stuck with those shitty prices.

You are just hampering your performance potential then. low end rigs with DDr3 are pretty cheap.

I dont know where you did your maths but for me a 80$ motherboard is high paid for a used 775 but still cheaper then a rig that need memory, motherboard and some other stuff.
I maybe wrong but if can build me a full setup under 80$ youre my man !!!!

This. I've seen some steals on fm2 and am3+ systems on newegg shell shockers lately. You know those ones where it has most of the parts bundled.

Prob not 80. But $100-$200 with ease. that will blow any 775 kit you can make out of the water really.

We'll see. Ive been toying with the idea of getting the 650to boost as well, but that will be too expensive. If i cut back on the psu it might work.. All in due time.

I don't consider an expense of 80$ so do you think I will consider an expense of 100$ or more ????

That is why i expressed my tought in my first post that I want to stay way under 80$ and KEEP & USE the parts i ALREADY HAVE.

I'm dreaming of a new AR15 with a couple of 30 round mags, probably a Smith and Wesson M&P, also a nice Smith and Wesson 1911 wouldn't hurt either.
    MT Alex says thanks.

My desires are pretty simple. :) I now urgently need a good 1 TB or more HDD, after 6 months or so I would like to upgrade my 6770 to a 7850 and get a decent air cooler for my CPU. :)
As for the luxury part, I would be very happy if I get a SSD to speed up my system. :)
