Has anyone tried to remove heat spreader

    ok.. are we talking 5 c from lapping 5 C is HUGE...
    My HS looked pretty shinny, Ive just gone to a 380I water block on my 4670k... but . 5 C? . not sure if I want to rip apart my loop to lap.... but its intriguing
    OK.. i just read some more.. what a yahoo I am.. Its lapping the lid of the chip.. " DOH"
    HAs anyone lapped a HW and posted results?
    I did not get lapping the chip lid, I was initially thinking it was lapping the water block...
    sorry for the incoherent posting.. "Im too tired to .." snore...

    If you really want to delid something then just buy a ivy/haswell chip and delid away!

    if you try to delid a sandybridge it will destroy it
