    Hi guys,

Since Catalyst 9.10 doesn't work with the new HD 5770 and HD 5750 (which I have), what is the recommended driver to use for these cards? :)

And please, don't recommend the RadeonHD_5800_5700_Catalyst_Vista_Win7.exe one because I'm currently using Windows XP 32-bit.

    Thanks.

Have you tried the Beta 9.11 driver?

I recommend you stop using Windows XP. Then us the Catalyst 9.10 drivers. While not optimized for the 5700 series, it will provide full functionality.

More graphical performance and compatibility with applications I need to use for work.

Can't at the moment due to the above reason. I do have a valid license for Windows Vista Ultimate, but I can't use it for now.

... and this too. :p That's why they still have the RadeonHD_5800_5700_Catalyst_Vista_Win7.exe mentioned above.

I am not trying to flame you or be rude, but more graphic performance and compatibility could have been handled with a cheaper card. You could have even gotten more power with a similar priced card minus the DX11. Compatibility is moot, because as you stated, it does not work with Windows XP correctly.

Sorry to hear you have some programs for work that need their XP fix and you can't avoid it right now. Normally I would wave the Windows 7 XP mode flag, but that is a $100+ upgrade to use a simulated version of the stuff you are using now for free.

I do apologize, I didn't know it would not allow you to install the drivers at all. ATI get on top of your game!

Don't think this will work, but it may be worth a shot. Remove the card, install the new drivers (9.10) as the update to the 785G integrated chip. Then stick the card back in the system and hope the drivers can at lease recognize the card. While optimization is not going to be there, it may improve functionality.

    No offense taken. :)

Compatbility should work fine considering that Catalyst 9.10 even supports the HD 5800 series, which is AMD/ATI's flagship product now, and considering that the HD 5700 series are just cut down versions.

This is ATI's problem though and I will not poke on this issue any further. This exact situation has happened to me before when I bought their HD 3850 two years ago, HD 4850 last January, and HD 4770 right away after launch. :p The drivers for those mentioned cards weren't available until the next month, so my experience with ATI cards and late drivers isn't anything new. :p

Yeah, the work-related, XP-only applications are a bitch to me, but I can't do anything about that until they migrate the programs to at least .NET 3.5 (which should ensure compatibility with Vista and 7).

Yup, I was planning to try out your method, but I realized that the ATI drivers will only install the drivers for the particular chipset/video card that's currently enabled/found on the system. This means that even if I enable the 785G IGP, it will still just install Catalyst 9.10 files for the IGP only. It's not like the NVIDIA drivers where it will install the whole, huge package and putting in any card will get the driver installed right away.
    TheLaughingMan says thanks.

Have you tried downloading and installing the driver only? Try it without CCC.

Yup, Catalyst 9.10 still states that it's not a supported card. They really did leave out HD 5700 series cards this time around, which I find very weird since Catalyst 9.9 and Catalyst 9.11 (OpenCL beta) support it. :wtf:

Here 5750 Win 7 64-bit + 9.10 do not work. I managed to install this on Win 7 ultimate RC 32-bit on same system with few errors here and there but all ok. Now with Win 7 home Pro 64-bit no go. Thought all the minor glitches would be solved out by official release. :shadedshu
Oh well, I suppose these problems will be ironed out after while.
I have Asrock AOD790GX mobo which has integrated 3300 on board and it installs fine if I set it as my primary graphics. 5750 is only recognized as standard VGA adapter. jaredpace! Would you know if there is a beta driver for Win 7 64-bit too?

    Welcome to TPU, Kariman. :)

Unfortunately, the official Catalyst 9.10 release won't work for our HD 5750s, but since you're on Windows 7 try using the recommended driver (RadeonHD_5800_5700_Catalyst_Vista_Win7.exe) and it should work fine.

BTW, do you have one of those egg-shaped coolers with the black PCB? If so, can you use GPU-Z and save the BIOS from your HD 5750 and send it to me? :) I'd like to experiment with a reference BIOS. Thanks.

ASUS HD 5750? If so, please get the BIOS using GPU-Z 0.3.6 and upload here. :) I'm going to experiment with it.
