Namaste.

I've got an Asus EAH5770 CuCore video card and I want to make the fan run at 100% all the time. Can someone please tell me the settings needed in the 'Fan Settings' tab to do this with RBE?

Thanks in advance :).

Why bother with a Bios flash when you can simply set it to manual fan in CCC?

I don't see why you would have to set the fan speed to 100%. Are you having any troubles with your card or anything? like high temperatures?

You should also note that some fans for whatever reason do not go all the way to 100%, instead go to a max of 80% etc

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I appreciate it :).

@Tatty_One, I make it a point to not install CCC :p, that and I prefer a more permanent solution like a BIOS mod.

@HXL492, Well I live in Sri Lanka and it's pretty hot here, so I'd like to have the temps as low as possible.

So would these settings work:

Tmin: 0

Duty cycle min: 100

Hysteresis: 0

Spin up cycle: 0

Tmin hysteresis: 0

Spin up time: 0

PWM ramp: 0

Contrary to what some might call it, "popular belief", you WOULD benefit from installing CCC. I do not live in a place that is as hot as yours, but this summer temps in my room reached 33ºC and during a full gaming session my HD 5770 topped at 82ºC. That's not a very high temperature and, to my standards, completely tolerable. You should, instead of messing with your card's BIOS, since you do not know what you are doing at 100% and there is a risk of bricking your card with a bad flash, I strongly advise you to search for another option instead of flashing the BIOS. Like, make sure your case has good airflow and if you still want to get special attention to your card, get a fan for the side panel or in the front of the case to make cool air reach the card. Also, you could replace the thermal paste on the card's cooler.
I'd like to point out that those settings you showed for the fan would not work, in my opinion, unless the fan was an ideal (perfect) fan. Hysteresis can't be that low, nor can the speed up time, because a fan cannot simply go from 0 to 2000 something rpm in less than a second...unless it's specially designed for it. And this is not the case.

Should only bios flash when you need to really, as has been said before there's always a chance of a failed flash and getting a dead card.

Software fixes are grand and work great.

I use saphire trixx to have my fan boot at 100% and it works everytime ( although sometimes my voltage changes don't load :S )

Forgive me, how do you control quality settings such as MLAA etc if you do not install CCC? if your that concerned about using CCC why are you not using Asus Smartdoctor to control the fan settings?

I thought that software only worked on the HD 6xxx cards...

Yeah, forgot that Asus cards had that software doohickey too...

If you mean software voltage control, no it works on the 5 series, onl;y on reference cards though.... unless like mine it comes with it's own software voltage control.

Namaste.

Thanks for the responses :).

So I flashed the BIOS successfully and the fan spins at 100% without issues, until it boots into Windows. When I uninstalled the drivers the fan was spinning at 100% but with the drivers installed the fan speed seems to be on stock settings.

Seems like the driver is overriding the BIOS settings? Any way to overcome this?

Oh and I prefer flashing settings on to the card since it's a more permanent solution. BIOS>software for me. As for CCC and SmartDoctor, I don't use MLAA and was hoping to control fan speeds through the BIOS itself so I can avoid installing these since I (my personal opinion here) find them to be bloatware :D.

You will need to attach your Bios so i can have a look at it, you will have to zip it tho to attach it in here.

I had a look in this topic and seems a lot of people are having the same issue as me.

I have taken a look at it, I would use "Look up table" and set all the fan speeds to 100% with temps in each box at 20, 30,40 etc, that should work, not sure why your method does not though, probably a bug.
