I have win 7 installed on its own HD. I just physically installed my new 500GB HD. When I go into disk management, it says I must initialize the disk with "use the following partition style for the selected disks" with "master boot record" checked off" do I just hit OK at this point and let it do its thing? If not, what should I do? I have 2 partitions I want to do as well and do I use MBR checked off on both?

    thx

I think you might wanna try renaming your thread title. When I saw it, I thought it was a high definention question, not a hard drive question. Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question.

i thought hard drive, but i can understand the confusion.

Use MBR, i'm pretty sure windows states the differences between the types at that dialog box anyway. Just use the default setting if you're worried.

And this is a once-per-disk setting, not per partition.
