just read a damn review god damn ive seen countless threads by you comparing the same 2 or 3 gpus read a review buy one and move on, Ill even make it easy.
clocks on the PCS+ are the same as the 6850 Toxic
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_6850_PCS_Plus/5.html

and to be blunt 6850 because the 5850s are end of life they use more power in DX11 games there hampered with slower tessellation units and the 5850 is more likely to suffer from the fact that in quite a few games the full 1440 shaders cant be filled completely where as the 6850 dosent suffer from that due to a much lower shader count. in terms of general performance there about the same but a 6800 will still receive performance benefits from drivers as its part of the 6000 series which is the current gen of GPUs from AMD 5800s are old news and driver improvements will not be forth coming.

What do you think: what is better (and why)
Sapphire Radeon HD5850 Vapor-X (the same clocks as HD5850 Toxic)
or
Sapphire Radeon HD6850 Toxic
for games. The price is the some.

crazyeyesreaper is right - read some reviews. Google is your friend and there are probably hundreds of threads on this already.

lol you mean to say the 1600 shaders in HD5870 are a waste of bloody die space and maybe they should have used 960 shaders instead????

not really the probably isnt shader count its more the front end aka the part that feeds the shaders in the gpu needed to be revamped it is basically the same as the front end on the old 2900xt aka 320shaders so youve basically got something designed to feed 320 shaders trying to keep 1600 working sometimes its fine others its not a good example would be Dragon Age origins the old 4870 was only using an average of 650 out of 800 shaders on the GPU due to the front end package just not being good enough. This has been fixed in the 6000 series thus why a 6850 is only slightly slower then a 5850 and why a 6870 is in between the 5850 and 5870 its in essence a better full package.

Another way to look at is the older 5800 were muscle cars you have alot of power but shitty gear ratio etc so while in many situations the problem isnt readily apparent in some key games you get less then stellar performance again 6800 and 6900 they fixed this 6800 are better balanced 6900s have dual engines to feed the 1500+ shaders.
