what day of the computex will they reveal this monster?
The rumour is that AMD will not make a vanilla 7990. Instead they've given the partners the all clear to make their own (which means better and custom cooled cards).
hmm.. that sucks... so much hype for nothing? how many days left of computex? maybe it will be a last day thing
It could be a good thing. The GTX 690 is a marvelous bit of design with a cooler that makes many single gpu cards look and sound shit. AMD has a bad habit of making great cards and slapping on turbo fans. If the likes of MSI and Asus get a stab at making custom dual 7970's then maybe they'll be able to outshine the 690 at a lower price point.
We can but hope.
Good, that means they could also put out a 7990 X2 for us. Couple 7990's could sandwich a waterblock making it only a 3-slotter.
Come on manufacturers, don't be afraid!
7870 x 2 please
amd could really shock the world right now if they just made a 4 gpu card 4 hd7970s rofl single slot of course water block only
well its a new day... lets see what happens
a 3xHD7870 with improved drivers would be faster, cheaper and better I guess
It seems that AMD/ATI really left the burden of developing a dual GPU to its AIB,
I would've liked to see a reference 7990, well there is still time for hope I guess
hope is all we have left to go on..... but thats the way these things are anyways.... we hope maxwell will be 12x faster than fermi.... we hope intel's haswell brings real world performance changes that is actually noticeable....
Someone from Asus will probably make it regardless on whether AMD has a reference board or not. Patiently waiting for one to appear for me to salivate over (but not own)
They can't make 2 GPUs card and you are dreaming about four. : D
It's a well documented thing that OBR is a sack of shit website. I expect no retraction of his article when the 7970X2 variants start to appear. I've followed much of their articles and they're pretty piss poor with accuracy.
Indeed, they are just biased fanboys, just take a look at how they are NV centric
According to SemiAccurate, AMD has been waiting on process maturity and collecting enough low leakage chips to create the 7990. These binned chips will be on the 7970 GHz edition, which will probably be launching this week.
well atleast we know amd is now making an hd7990.... now its an exact release date that we wait for....
