Help DVD player Cant Read Disc

    My sister gave me a dvd player (new)but she told me she format the dvd by mistake I dont understand exactly what she means and I cant call her.Anyway Now the DVD do not recognize ANY disc

    I flash the firmware from 1.00 to 2.00 and now 1.01 still dont works

    LG HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NS30 original firmware 1.00 and i'm using windows 7x64

    Any help would be appreciated Thanks :toast:

    Sounds like a rewritable disk and with your sister formatting it means it's blank and should be ready to put more data on it.

    Data is gone...


    To format a DVD or more often a HDD means wiping the data of the disk like for a fresh install of a OS.

    The dvd player/burner gives me this message with every disk i try (lfd2,cod4,my asus mb cd....)


    the dvd player is new my sister used it 1 day and it was working fine before she click everywhere :mad:

    Try removing the upper and lower filters in the registry.Not exactly your issue but may work just the same this link will explain how to do that -

    Aah now you add any disk :roll:

    Maybe it's a DVD burning program you have installed making the issue or even the drives just had enough already. Or even reinstall the software.

    Any chance you can check it in another system ?.

    Hahaha! That's the same thing I'd do! I've had two DVD players (not drives) fail on me because the motor stopped working properly (the discs would spin too slowly for proper reading).

    In that case it could just need a belt replacment in some other it's just on the lens or on the rails. I guess he could have dust on the lens but like dayum he only just got it.
