so i have this problem where my network is being used to full extent.

i have turned off windows updates.

i have also lost sound. what is wrong

Probably a virus or if your network is wireless you have someone leeching your network.

I'd backup and reformat that shit if it's a virus and if it's wireless internet I'd put a WPA2 password on it and not make it your name DOB or sexuality.

Disable any av you have installed, Then run combofix and see if it finds anything.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/combofix is the only legitimate place to dl it

no. its wired to the back of my pc. its seems to have stopped now after a scan with eset ? may have been a virus.
