Im trying to resize my partition on my laptop to install kubuntu but my partition is corrupted.

it still boots into windows fine but i cant get partition magic to recognize the drive.

i ran partition table doctor 3.0 and it found my old linux partition and didn't recognize my current windows partition, how can i repair this?

right now all i have is one partition as big as the entire drive.

Unfortunately, I've found that Partition Magic can do this at times. I use Acronis Disk Director Suite instead. I've had less issues with it. Speaking of which, you can give it a shot to fix your partition table.

i've had partition magic fail me at this too.

the only sure fire way to fix it, is to backup all data, erase all partitions and start fresh.

i was afraid of that... but i try acronis disk director suite, if that fails i'll just do a LLF and start fresh.
