Let's have your ideas for the tech of 2011 that you think is significant enough to be worthy of inclusion in an editorial. I'm thinking of listing 12 items, one for each month, but it doesn't matter if there's more than one in one month and it doesn't have to be strictly 12. It can be groundbreaking or it can be a turkey or somewhere in between - it doesn't matter! Just put your ideas down and I'll go through them and make an article.

If you can put a web link with your suggestion, then so much the better.

Here's a couple of my suggestions: the current Sandy Bridge lineup eg i5-2500K released in January, for greatness and Duke Nukem Forever for the turkey/wooden spoon award.

    GO FOR IT! :toast:

    1) Vaporware - Duke Nukem and others
    2) 3d Transistors - Ivybridge usage confirmation
    3) FX - Bulldozer. Enough said
    4) Skyrim - Come on.
    5) Battlefield/Modern Warfare 3 - Big sellers, no matter how much hate they garner
    6) 32 nm - With 28 around the corner we have to celebrate somehow
    7) x79 - A chipset that managed to disappoint. Or at least disappoint some when the initially large and positive outlook was substantially trimmed back...
    8) SOPA - ......(swearing)....
    9) Netflix - Backlash twice in a year. You have to cover that, even if you're outside the US.
    10) Natural Disasters - Between flooding, earthquakes, and tsunamis the world has had a rough year. Technological sectors were not spared from the tragedy.
    11) Lucidlogix - Finally having a way to switch between graphical solutions, with decent support. This is a little inovation with large impacts.
    12) Steve Jobs - I hate Apple, but the impact is there. Touching on Job's death and impact is something worthwhile.

I can't think of much else....
    qubit says thanks.

Sandy Bridge certainly should be in there for the greatness award, though the pre B3 revision p67 should get the wooden spoon for the same month.
