help with dvd rom [vista]

Im growing frustrated here, i just got my new system and want to install vista home premium, but in the middle of the initiation for the installation, vista ask me for the dvd-drive driver. my drive is kinda ancient and finding a driver for is just HARD, i have an HP dvd200i dvd writer, and all i can find is firmware updates.

pls help me find this driver.

As you can see there's no vista.

Urgh, im being prevented from using my new system by an 3 yr old dvd drive that i barely use :shadedshu:

, so i guess buy a new one right?

Yea looks like you'll probably need a new one. They aren't too much though, that one shadow only $20, and for $30 you could get a fast dvd burner, and a few bucks more and you can get the fastest there is. Consider it a gentle push in the upgrade direction (right, like microsoft knows how to push gently).

lol i just spent like 1k+ on this system and they want more!?....geeess, oh well sucks to have a 3870 x2 and not being able to use it

If vista Does not recognize a optical drive that is recognized by your BIOS you might try this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/314060 It worked for me, It isn't exactly like XP, but it's there.
