Hello, it's my first tread so pls dont ignore me)
Got intel i5-2310 overclocked to 3,49 GHz with mobo msi z77a-g45
Ram 4gb 1333(can't overclock it)
Video card palit 550ti
Also ssd+HDD(don't think it got any sense but 256gb + 2tb)
PSU corsair RM 650
Wanna get some useful upgrade, but don't know what should I buy first - upgrading ram to 8-16 GB 1600-1833 or take new video card -gtx 970 or gtx 770, also thinking about gtx 760,r9 280x or 290x.
Playing for fun at 1080p(TV)

A 280/290 is a big upgrade from the 550Ti. Your ram is fine.

Also for me is a very big deal quiet of system - got nh-d14, 5 silent fans with fan controller(temp is 28-29 hdd-ssd, 32-34 cores and 32 mobo in 2d mode), so need a quiet and not hot video card, that's why thinking about gtx970(my palit got 0 rpm in 2d mode)
PC is in room where I sleep, working 24/7/365, so need a quiet in 2d mode video card.
Thnx for advice, thought I should buy ram 1st.

OK, here's a question - is it really OK with 4gb ram and 4gb vram either I should buy ram at 2nd priority?
Again - my PC only for gaming.

What is your budget? You can pick up a nice R9 290 at Newegg for around $250 and it comes with 4 free games. The GTX 970 does perform better but it's $100 more and 1 free game. It just depends on your budget and if the free games are games that you would have bought anyway. Either one is going to be a huge increase in performance for you. Take a look at this chart. A GTX 550Ti performs about on par with a GTX 650 for reference.

But what is your budget?

Edit:: If you're only using your PC for gaming then the GPU fans won't be making much noise even if you leave your PC on at night..

Also not interested in free games)
Why I wanted to upgrade - GTA V.
Also want to go for 4k in spring, so thinking about GT 970/r9 290x sli/cf, but just thoughts.

You already answered your own question.

290/780 drivers are matured last thought.

I think @GhostRyder can help you with 4K. He's running three R9 290X in crossfire on 4K.

We got too expensive 980 and 780 versus 970 and 290x(about 200-250 USD difference, both are about 800 USD vs 550-600 USD)

OK, Thnx to all, how can I close tread?
Just "unwatch tread"?
