Ok, here is my question: I have here this x800xt card (agp,vivo,icq2). Now the x800 series all use the same chip. I heard that chips with broken pipelines are usually turned int 'pro' models, because those use only twelve piplines (some people find PE stickers under their pro stickers ^^). This one uses sixteen (as the PE). In fact the only difference is that ist 500/500 instead of 520/560. My guess is that they use either ram thats not up to specifications for this card or chips or both. The quesion is, IF this card performs sufficient with 520/560 (lets say, tested by the ati-tool - the icq2 is a much better heatsink than the ATI one i guess), all i have to do is to flash the bios from a agp-PE card onto it and voila: PE. And i can restore the old bios from a backup in the case of trouble, right ? On a sidenote, i am very disappointed with ATI's curent policy to sell lackluster or even damaged parts as a seperate brand. Especially if it is as high-priced as in this case.
