Looking for some budget components for a build for a friend of mine. Nothing to over the top. I just found out she has been trying to run on a old PIII until the psu blew and took the board and cpu out the other day. She plays spore, sims and a few other medium demand games. I have the case, hdd, psu, mobo, cdrom and cpu cooler already laying around. She has kb, mouse and 19" LCD.

    Things I am looking for:
Low wattage PhII or AII 2, 3 or 4 core 95w max (50 to 75$ range)
    2x1GB DDR2 667 or 800MHz - Found. Thanks to t ski.
    Medium range gfx 4670, 240, 250, 4830, 4850 possibly a 260 or 4870 Found. Thanks to ebolamonkey3 for an awesome deal on a 260 OC. :rockout:

If you have some of these components laying around and you want to get rid of them send me your offer. :toast:

    I have some 2 x 1GB PC2-6400 sticks I could sell. $25 shipped sounds reasonable...

I have a 512MB 3850 for sale for $30. I don't know if that fits your mid range area or not. I would sell my week old 512MB GTS 250 for around $85 too.

Sorry for the double post here. Quick question: Which card is better out of these?
    8800gts 640, 4670 1GB DDR3, 5550 1GB DDR2 or
    9600GSO 768MB DDR2 w/ 48 steam processors?
Again, it will be driving a 19" LCD. :toast:

8800 640 should be better than a 4670. I'd ignore the rest. Even if the 8800 and 4670 got the same frame rates I'd pick the 8800 for the memory bandwidth. Things load smoother when you're looking around at new scenes. Though if power is a concern then I'd do the 4670.

I would pick a 4670 because of its less demand on PSU and low heat. Also it still gets decent frames in COD4 with all medium settings @ 1650 resolution. So I guess older games wouldn't be an issue.

I would in a flash, but $72 is the amount I have left for the gfx in my paypal. Trying not to spend to any out of pocket for this build/upgrade. Im trying to use the cash I got sitting in my paypal. Plus my gf would kill me if I spent any money on it. If someone would buy my Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme I have FS, I would have enough.
