I managed to pick up the 360 version of Homefront a few days ago. But due to being pretty busy I've only been able to grab an hour or so to play it here and there.

The visuals are not too bad considering the age of the console (but not great either). The scenary is nice and bright but lacking in any real texture. Although they have managed to make the US look like a war zone. Hopefully the graphics will be vastly improved on a good gaming rig.

For me, I've found Homefront to play like a mash-up of Call Of Duty, Battlefield and Killzone. Your squad tends to move from one fire-fight to the next, with an occasional 'shock & awe' scene thrown in (ala CoD), for example: jumping into a mass grave of US civilians and using a corpse for cover.

So far, I'm enjoying the single player campaign and I'm about 3-4 hours into it. I've only spent about 20 minutes on the MP mode but it seems ok. I'm more of a CoD MP fan tbh and this reminded me of Battlefield (which isn't a bad thing obviously). I think I need to spend more time on it before making a final judgement ;)

Overall, I consider Homefront to be a decent game. It's not groundbreaking or anything, but I'm findng it to be a fun shooter. If you're looking for something new and fresh, this isn't it I'm afraid.

I don't know if its worth the £39.99 console price tag. But I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up for £24.99 (@ PLAY.com) for the PC :D

Thanks Hookey, but to maximize the use of your kind post I would ask:

Graphics "not bad, not great": I'd rather hear how it is compared to other xbox games... We also say Crysis 2 is not bad not great....

Lacking texture: I am sure there are textures...

    Thanks anyway!

I'll most likely pick this up when it's really cheap.

I didn't think of that, good idea :D I could honestly say it doesn't look as good as Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops (on the 360).

No, worse! CoD = 7 hours (roughly). Homefront = 4-4.5 hours (roughly) The game ends just as it gets REALLY interesting

And the moral of this story is: wait until this game is on sale ;)

cool, will do. for me cod is 5-6 hours on hard, 6-6.5 on veteran...so homefront would probably take me 3-3.5 i guestimate. with that short of a campaign the mp better be epic for the price their askin. definitely waiting for a good sale.

    You're obviously l33t :D

The MP seems ok. If you're a Battlefield MP fan, then you may like it :)

Why not just release a fixed game instead if a broken one that needs an update?

Yep, as a friend said: this is a bargain bin title!

well that idk. I think, and this is speculation, because they didnt want to just port the game to the pc but also didnt want the pc version to be delayed by a month while consoles were all ready.
