OOOOLALALAAAAA!!!!!

I just tried a old trick and it works: I am playing steam version now!

Quick ones:
1) at very high, it looks better here than those already nice hi-res pics posted earlier.
2) recoil is moderate
3) feeling: walking, shooting is solid, real
4) generally it looks like BC2, 1 point nicer, but no destruction
5) vehicles are like copied from BC2, just the speeds are must better: slower
6) suburban maps give a very caotic feeling, not like 2 fronts, but have not seen them all
7) sounds good
8) I pissed in my pants during some cruel cinematics: its for +18

This game is a CoD knock off with some VERY big flaws. I'm sorry but there is no way I am paying full price for this. As you can see console nit wits love it....

Here's an overview:

•XboxAddict: 9.3/10
•Totally360: 9/10
•Planet Xbox 360: 8.7/10
•Computer and Video Games: 8.6/10
•IGN: 7.0/10
•IncGamers: 6.4/10
•Edge Magazine: 50%
So it seems the X360 fans are really into Homefront, but the rest seem a bit less convinced. Here's what IGN had to say:

Homefront is certainly one of the most unique shooters I’ve ever played, driven by an ingenious and surprisingly well-fleshed out plot and a dark and dreary, realistic setting. But it also controls and feels like a typical shooter, looks like a game that’s several years old, and most importantly, has an inexcusably brief campaign. Multiplayer is Homefront’s redeeming quality, and those gamers out there who are like me and swoon for alternate/future history settings should certainly look into it. However, if what you’re seeking is an upper-echelon shooter, keep looking, because Homefront isn’t what you’re searching for.

It is okay, but I am missing a little historical or real feeling... Maybe because I am not a merican...

And I have yet to see a map that has NOT trucks and containers all over it! Makes me want BF3, but I am bored of BF2BC2Vietnam.

Homefront is SCREAMING for Modding Tools, because the basis, the physics, the engine it is all very good.

And abandoned all of their weapons? Just a detail that bugs me. I havent played the game but I'm assuming it depicts them as some epic mechanized fighting force. When in reality their a largely infantry force with a HUGE amount of artillery.. Nice to see the intel brief i sat thru a few months ago helps when I decide if I wanna buy a game haha

THQ stocks fall 9% after bad reviews for Homefront:

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/03/15/thq-shares-idUSN1524342120110315

Reuters) - THQ Inc's (THQI.O) shares fell more than 9 percent after one of its highly anticipated video games received poor reviews after hitting stores on Tuesday.

Shares fell 9 percent to $5.40 on Nasdaq.

The first-person shooter game "Homefront" received a score of 75 on Metacritic, a website that tracks reviews of games. The market leader in war-themed games is Activision Blizzard's (ATVI.O) "Call of Duty: Black Ops," which has a score of 88 on the website.

"This score is a bit of a disaster for THQ and the share price today is reflecting that," said Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey. "The market is a quality driven market (and) you need at least a score of 80 and above on Metacritic to do well."

The futuristic game, which is set in 2027, features a North Korean army occupying a bankrupt United States, Japan and Southeast Asia.

The game's content and an associated marketing blitz have touched nerves at a time of heightened tension on the Korean peninsula. [ID:nTOE72D05X]

The poor reviews could impact sales at a time when THQ is seen needing a hit title. Its share price has floundered more than 15 percent since its third-quarter earnings on Feb. 2, when it lowered its profit outlook.

The company's management has tried to convince investors that its upcoming games lineup is its strongest ever and sales of "Homefront," the first release in that slate, is being closely watched by Wall Street.

idk for me I simply have the hardest time taking any game that has NK taking over the world, a country that has far too limited resources to eve take out japan and SK. Yet has the giant China do what? nothing?

if they had swapped NK for china I could have gotten into it. But I can't see myself playing a game where my every thought will be "this is the dumbest plot line I've ever seen in a
game"

my guess is there's some poltics behind this and they didn't want a game to ahve any real political ramifications and instead went with the korea easy out.

germany came out of a state of extreme poverty and hyperinflation and managed to grab a large part of the planet before the giant next to them decided to do anything about it....

To compare NK to germany before ww2 is insane.. NK's economy is non-existent outside of backwater arms trades and sucking chinas tit.

Either way.. the mailman has spoken.

NO! I will do that when I have hours ahead. No hurry.

I will list my cons and pros:

+ beautiful game!
- 1 minutes between SHORT MP matches is not nice
- no after match chat
+ many accessible buildings
- but not all
