Hi, I've got this eVGA 7950gt that at stock speeds runs at upto 83c under load.. ie Bioshock.
Because I need best performance for the newer games, I need to run det 163.71. It will do 650 core without probs, 680 will eventually give me artifacts.. so too hot. Does anyone know if the zalman vf900 or the zalman fatality fc-zv9 coolers will fit a 7950? Also any voltmod links for this card would be greatly appreciated.

I have a ton of fans blowing air, my computer sounds like a jet taking off... I only get those temps when running bigger games like bioshock, others like il2 1946 will run at like 69c. Those zalman coolers are listed for 7900 series, so I would have to assume this 7950 uses the same pcb? And yes, I need to get one as soon as possible!

Yeah, already regreased with arctic silver, but sure does look like the cooler needs to be polished some more. Also took a look at nibitor, and it shows I have one more voltage setting in my voltage table 1.45v instead of 1.35v! That should get me my 680mhz on the core (only does 650 stable now) Yeah, looks like I'll be shelling out another $65 can on this card. Wondering if the pencil mod is safer than a bios mod, as I'll have to reflash the bios to get the 1.45v.... Ahh, I see it's for memory volt mod, but could still be useful. Bios reflash I guess then.

Finally found a post where someone has installed the fatality cooler on the exact same card as me, says his temps went from 80c under load to 50c on max fan setting.. killer!
