hi all, i wondered if any one off you have some experience on this..

i have a pc with win xp sp2 and mediaplayer 11. i can watch picture's and play movies from the pc on my xbox 360, but i can't stream video on it.. according to the xbox guide stuff i should get a media center pc, but i don't want that...

is there an other way to do this? please let me know

Thats kind of sorry. In other words, if you get a media center 2005 or whatever the os is, you should be able to do it. Though, I Thought with XP you could stream video wirelessly...

could be, but i use wired lan so thats not an option..

i think it's realy stupid that you should buy a media center pc to do this, maybe it's a way to
    get people buy this stuff?

wmv is the only supported format for streaming. You can try vlc360, it says you need media center, but it's worth a shot. If it works, you can stream anything vlc will play. Your computer has to be pretty powerful tho, as it re-encodes the files to wmv on the fly.

    mp3's, wmv, wma, etc.....

it wont do divx or xvid movie, mp4's, atrac and as on.

but there is a hack out there you convent divx (and the others) on the fly so able you to play these formats on the 360.

    EDIT: vlc360 requries Windows MCE
