can i use windows7 usb dvd tool? i plan to boot windows 7 from a 60gb WD external...
As long as your motherboard supports it, which is pretty much any motherboard manufactured in the past few years, booting Windows 7 from a USB connected adapter should be possible but it isn't really perfected or very practical. (60 mb/ps cap)
As long as its an eSATA adapter it should work fine using the ExpressCard slot rather than the BusCard slot.
I have a friend who tried it, failed but then figured out how and it was possible.
i have a WD600U017.
