Alright so my friend decided to tell me how to get texts when a program is done doing something. For instance he set his up so that uTorrent will send him a text when it is done downloading a file. Sure enough it worked. He said its a command line in Windows.

So my question, does anyone know anything about this? I will be using Tixati instead of uTorrent, but that should be a simple change in the coding.

    Thanks all!

Ask your friend how he did it and have him do it for you.

Hmm we use a system in our company that sends an email when something is done or so, and this email redirects to a mobile number, so we get an sms. This also works with fax machines.

I figure you could tie an email notification to an email address that redirects to a phone number, though how latter is done exactly, I have no idea.

    Thanks viper!

Now all i have to do is see if the program Tixati has an option that I can configure like you can in uTorrent.
This can be marked as solved!

If you have an Android phone you can get apps that you can actually start and maintain torrents from and that will also notify you when finished. For instance, I use Torrent-fu on my phone to maintain my uTorrent (best torrent program, hands down).

For Windows maybe. In my opinion, Transmission kicks uTorrent's ass!
