I have a 94.5GB OS C partition with windows 8.1 and 32.4GB free space, a few days ago I always had 40GB+ free space left, I did not install any new software on drive C lately, only updates and I suddenly lost 10GB for some reason...
I have a pagefile managed by windows and it is using 2.4GB and it says 5.8GB recommended, so I don't touch that.
But the question is, is 32.4GB free space enough for future windows updates?
(I have no plans to upgrade to windows 10)
I don't want to get a red bar in "This PC" and pop-ups and so on.
With how many percent left will you get a red bar in "This PC"?

I don't think the 'red bar' will lead to constant pop ups. I am really pushing around data to and from my 256gb SSD because of a lack of space all the time, and never get pop ups unless an install will take MORE space than is available.

That said, 32GB for just updates is more than enough. Also cleaning temp files once in a while can help alot, things accumulate over time and Windows Update might be the least of that.
