My desktop I only use for gaming so I voted 1 to 3 hours a day but that's not everyday. Of course when downloading games it's on more. My laptop is used about an hour a day for surfing/emails/video.

I use mine when i come Home from work for a few hours to play or do some stuff and when i am at home is running the whole day.

well my situaion may be odd… or normal not sure

Computer PC: 24/6 or 24/5… I don’t work on sundays, I reboot it once a week,

Gaming Rig: from 1 hours (minimum gaming period is 2 hours) to 8 hours for the maxium on 95% of cases, (I'm so hiperactive child so I cannot be in the same place for much time, I may became insane or evil)
for steam gamesdownloads I do remote connection with team viewer or logmeinrescue to my rig, no idea about the time; Seldom I play like 10 or more hours… I can't remember when was the last time I spend more than 8 hours actually.

Laptop: when I've knew where the f*ck it was, the using time was less than 1 hour to check email and craps… also for some works… and the more time I used was like 3 hours during a bus trip to a volcano, but since a couple of weeks ago I have no f*cking idea where it its… I gotta recognize that I hate laptops…Regards,

My personal preference on a machine that is not always on is for a fulltime overclock. It really comes down to what you want, I think.

My laptop normally stays on 24/7, I just turn the screen off at night. My gaming machine runs for 3-4 hours a day until the weekend, then it is on from the time get home from work Friday until I leave for work Monday morning
