This poll doesn't go high enough...

$500 per 2 weeks is nothing.

All politicians are somewhat corrupt. Just like the Bush running things in Florida. If he is still governor.

should have made the range higher, like up to $10,000, not $1000.
at that point, I could have voted mid-range.
    majority probably make atleast 2000.
hell, my car payment bills go over the maximum this one provides

Live in a large city, and make $27k a year as an auto technician. Paid *salary* - I'm actually paid hourly, but I don't lose time for sick leave, time off . . . I also don't earn overtime, either. I'd prefer to be paid a base salary + a percentage of labor over a minimum number of labor hours turned, but pay negotiations are pointless with my employer.

Been in the field 10 years, I'm certified, I work without supervision - if I don't know something, I can figure it out, or access means to help me understand a system.

I fall between Auto Tech II and Auto Tech III (only difference is I don't have 8 ASE certs, yet, but I have the knowledge to pass the other 4 I need - just haven't had the money to register for testing {comes out of my own pocket - which is another joke}).

For the most part, for this region, I'm grossly underpaid (average salary for techs in this region is $37k - for my level and experience, it's closer to $40k+).

Yea my dad is a computer consultant (like myself), though he as been doing it for about 15 years longer than me. He makes over 250K a year.

My mom works for NYS medicare Child Health Plus and makes like 47k

Both started off as teachers, then my dad started working on computers, and was out of work at one point for a year because he couldn't find anything. Turned around after that and he is making a niiiice paycheck now.

Hrmm.. i'm surprised at some of the low salaries some of your parents make for what they do. My wife and I work in Tucson and together we pull in 90-95k a year (I'm hourly, overtime ftw). I made $47k this year and my wife made $46k. My wife is an accountant and could be making much more if we were to live in Phoenix but we like Tucson. She needs to become a CPA and open her own business so I can do nothing all day :D. My wife works as the only accountant at a CPA's office, just her and her boss pretty much. Last year he made over 250k, most of which he made during tax season. I should have become a CPA instead of getting into the IT field.
