Since I'm not an audiophile, I usually get a comfortable headset with a mic for gaming and Skyping. The last ones cost 34€, so 50$ is the closest one.

got a pair of uprock skullcandys recently (purple):)
I enjoy them very much not a big sound quality enthusiast
but I do like meself some quality music, it has good bass & volume
only drawback is the short 3.5mm cable,
thats because they were not made for PCs, I suppose...

edit: oh and I payed around 40$ & overall im satisfied

when Im out, I use the earphones that came with the xperia sola,
with some EQ tweaking I can squeeze out good sounds

Bought for cheap (~60$) some semiprofessional Audio-Technica ATH-T500. Best investment ever.

erm..idk as i dont use that funny moeny :p

i dont use a headset either as you always find they are overpriced for what they are, instead i use a desk mic with earphones.

the pair cost me about £45.

I have the HD650 that I got used for $330 that I use with a dedicated tube amp (Little Dot MK IV SE) for music, I also have a pair of Beyerdynamic T70 and a pair of Ultrasone Pro 900, the last one is best for gaming and electronic music.

Also have a PS Audio Digital Link III DAC and a Schiit Bifrost DAC, a iBasso D6 portable amp/dac, and a JDS Labs c421 portable amp.

AKG Q701, ATH M50, Grado SR80i, and the worst sounding cans I have ever laid my head on (Kraken and a Tiamat 2.2 ... gave them away because it was cancer to the ears).

Planning on getting my mitts on a Beyer DT990 Pro to fill that bass gap.

I got some Audio Technica ATH-A700's for about $120 a few years ago.
Got 'em going through an Onkyo TX-SR500, and a Xonar DG. Cheap set-up with decent sound

I got some 20 year old Sennheiser HD560 Ovation II from my mother (best ever for long time use, skype taking, watching movies without big sound effects).

And newer Denon AH-D5000, brilliant warm signature with excellent bass without sacrificing on the rest. Using Marantz PM7003 amp -> QED cables -> X-Fi titanium HD on PC.

Im thinking to upgrade to a high quality headphone DAC-AMP. Anyone got any suggestions in the 300-600GBP range?

I use the Denon AH-D5000 with an HRT MusicStreamer II+ and Schiit Asgard. Sounds good to me.

For a headphone amp, try iFi-audio's iCan. It'll likely set you back about 250 GBP.

This amp has some great reviews, I personally use an iBasso D6 for my Ultrasone's which can output a massive 650mw into 32 ohms.

I use my OTL tube amp (LittleDot MK IV SE) for my HD650's and Beyer T70's. My X-fi Bravura sound card has dedicated headphone amp inside and I upgraded to AD797 opamps and sounds really good as well.

Sony XB1000, the best bass headphones ever produced. It has 70mm drivers, which are huge. Nothing will sound the same once you listen to these, especially movies!

I have on my Amazon wishlist an AKG-702 65th Anniversary Edition, Pioneer HDJ-2000K, Sony MDR-1R and a Beyerdynamic T5p, all which I will (hopefully) purchase in a few years time. :)

My last headset was $120, prior to that $70. I like the nice over-the-ear headphones, they are very comfortable for gaming and listening to music. :)

Wife bought me sennheizer pc 350's and with my xonar essence st's amp they sound awsome. She paid 159 at the future shop.. on my old xonar dx sound card I thought the headset kinda sucked but with a high end card they hammer to the point it tickles the side of your head from all the bass they but out.
