I am all confused overclocing Amd64 3200+ venice 939

i’ll explain why; at first I took it up to 272×10=2,70 Ghz as you see on the Cpu, it was good (just what i have for)than i thgouht beter performance I heard “if i increase Bus Speed and lower Multiplyer” will be faster than i tryed 316×6 =1,9 Ghz. Now my PC is same speed as before (2.70 Ghz.) I don’t understand why like that do you have an idiea what shoul i do? By the way HTT is 3 stable at all times

Your PC is the same speed at 1.9GHz as it was at 2.7GHz you're telling us?? If so, it would be the increaced bus speed. I would just try to hit 3GHz however possible.

Lol you even managed to screw up your avatar young man! Keep the CPU mult where it's supposed to be. Lower the HT from 4 to 3. Increase FSB to desired number.

before I had 295 Mhz*9=2.7 Ghz then i lowered the Multiplyer to 6*315 Mhz=1.9 Ghz but my PC speed is still same then what is the sence of overclocing?if i pump up the Bus speed to 325 CPU-Z shows 1,4 Ghz.I looked at the pages you directed me to and all it explains about,Voltage,Heat&Cooling ect. there might be something useful but i couldn't really see where it was i hope you understand what i am trying to say

sounds like cool n quiet is enabled in bios. disable it.

that just shows that your chip is capable of it.

set your bios to 300*9 and see what you get in terms of performance. then set it to 300*10 and see if your chip can handle it.

the reasoning behind lower multiplier for better performance, is that when you reach the maximum speed your cpu can run stable (2.8ghz for me) you can run a different bus speed and multiplier to get that same 2.8ghz, yet run your ram faster for better performance. unless you are mainly benchmarking just set your multiplier at 10x and run it as fast as it will go.
