take your router, throw it in a box, duct tape teh box at least 3 rolls, put it in the trunk of your car, lock it, and park it a block away, that will pretty much eliminate the forum problem ;)

edit i am having the same problem you are i have a 5 pg paper due tomorrow and i need to get my ass going, also make sure you dont have any cool gadgets or trinkets lying around those are killers for me

So take a break every thirty or sixty minutes. But a short break, and get back at it. Only you can motivate you. Get it done as soon as you can, and then you can relax pressure-free.

I have a system i use. basically, i disconnect the internet from my pc, switch the router off, slap some music on and just take it slow. if you rush into it, and get frustrated early on, youll get bored and just game/come on here haha. Music always helps, and say for every hours work you do, you go on the internet for like half an hour, then get stuck back in. =D

one thing that really helps me after i finish one whole page (spell checked and everything) i play 5 rounds of css or a quick tf2 game it releaves teh pressure and a bit of frustration i go buy take 10% of the time it took you to do some thing and apply that to a break no less that 10 min but no more than 30

Oh believe me, when I was in school, at the computer, working on a paper, I'd constantly double-click AIM, check forums, websites, etc. It'd take me ten, twenty minutes to write one paragraph. I'm a fantastic procrastinator.

You have to kick yourself in the balls and do what you have to. Or you can wait another week before the pressure really sets in and get it all done in panic mode.

for me its a titanium spork, matches and candles, really old and cool action figures, trying to make catapults out of ruberbands paperclips and pens...

also about your "extended breaks" i do the same thing all the time, also another drastic measure i had to take was i took out my vid card and unistalled teh drivers to make sure i could take anymore of those breaks

also remove yourself from your room, if you have a laptop i would suggest going to a cafe or some thing (not starbucks) and work on it there that way you will reduce the distractions (maybe barns and noble?) also headphones keep tehm quite but loud enough to block out distractions

edit: dont go to barns and noble they have way to many cool books...

:p thats a bad idea hehe....hehe....i just need to think about that fact that i only have 4 weeks of 6th form college left..then exams...then im free for 2 and a half moths...

use that as your motivation! just think, get this coursework done, and you can be free to do as you like for 2 AND A HALF MONTHS! hehe. if you really do struggle with self control over staying away from distractions, if you have a relatives house where they have little technology (such as a grand parents house) take your work and an mp3 player there. the further away, the better. haha.

i have an uncle that lives 2 minuets from my house...but we are not on the best of terms ...the rest live an hours+ drive away...with no traffic...

hmm ok ignore that suggestion then haha. i guess youll have to go on self control. it'll be difficult but worth it - think of the nearly 3 month break as a reward for a few hours of coursework.

oh by the way, what subject is the coursework in? nosey XD
