I have installed a new FX-8350 CPU on my ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A87T (AM3) motherboard and my computer has the fans running and everything but it doesn't POST. I have no idea why and I really need this in here it is seriously urgent. Does anyone have an idea why? I have a feeling it is because my motherboard doesn't support it but could there be another reason why? All answers all appreciated.

Not all AM3 boards support the FX CPU, which is an AM3+ CPU. Unfortunately according to Asus your board does not support the FX CPU you have (or any AM3+ CPUs).

I suggest you remove the CPU before you do any damage to that poor thing.

I think you're right on the money, that board doesn't offer support for any of the FX series CPU's.
Beside that even if you managed to get the 8350 working it's way under powered for an 8 core CPU. My best suggestion would be to get a new board. You could try their latest BIOS rev. but it's unlikely that will work.

You need a new motherboard or should return the processor as it is not compatible with your current motherboard.

Grab a 990 chipset to get the most from that fx.
