i need help with computer

    Ok so I am making my first computer should be here in about 4 days somethings wrong with shipping i ordered 3 days shipping and that was on the 26 but any who what programs should i download to make sure its working right like Memtest 86+ and that about all i know of so if someone knows them can you send a link or just tell me the name and i will get it thanks for help here is new computer specs all new parts

    Orthos or Prime 95 for cpu stability
    coretemp or realtemp for cpu temps
    rivatuner or evga precision or ATI tool for gpu oc'ing and monitoring
    everest for full system info
    cpu-z and gpu-z for detailed cpu and gpu info

    Maybe 3d mark 06, tho its more benchmarking... but it puts your GPU under load, so you can check the temps pretty good on GPU-Z.

    Good choice with that monitor, I love Asus' screens.

    another question when i build my computer when do i plug in my usb once its all set up and i have the os on it? or before and should i use these burn in tests like prime 95 right away or wait a couple of hours for it to get settled in?

    Do you mean a flash drive? I'm not getting what your plugging in via usb.

    Better wait with unnecessary USB things.
    As for prime, I see no problem to test right away. Of course you should wait till the OS loaded every programs and stuff after start up. But then, you're free to "burn in"

    also i'm having some problems finding the right prime95 for vista 64 and quad core anyone have a link to a good site i cant even find the main website for prime95

    just use OCCT... prime 95 doesn't utilize all the cores so you need to run more than one application. OCCT lets you test all the cores, memory, and some other stuff.
