To further extend my comments. The GT240 is "basically" a 9800GT in sheep's clothes performance-wise. If you don't plan on running both cards then I vote against it. That's why I said games in my previous post.

EDIT:

And upon further reading about getting the 5750, you MAY be ok with your current 400W psu if you know exactly who the OEM that built it is and what the amps ratings are.

What he said...

And, add maybe, a big beautiful Monitor. Maybe, something in the 21+ inch ranges.:)

I'd grab a PSU from bestbuy to support your upgrades. Those systems aren't equipped with PSUs with upgrading in mind. Even a low power consumption card can turn the tides and blow it out.

Something like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/BFG+-+4...pply/9175698.p?id=1218045946501&skuId=9175698 would be perfect for your system, although it's a tad pricey for what you're getting at bestbuy.

If you don't mind ordering, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031 would be good to grab.

Read the benchmarks. The GT240 is a 9600GT which is quite a bit slower than 8800/9800 model cards. It is still a nice performer, definitely better than a 4670. I recommend it, though I myself would actually buy a used 8800GTS for $80 from someone on the forums...

I think Nvidia's lower end GT2xx is in the market specifically for people like u2k. Get Ati cards instead, they are much better at low price points.

Anyway, proper advice:
1. The need to shop online. Regardless of whether you trust banks or not, you still need to get a credit/debit card so that you get a good bang for buck.
2. Listen to what other people say, either you do that or you don't ask for advice. Trolls are not welcome especially in TPU.
3. Upgrade your PSU. At least, tell us you have good psu even if you don't so that we can sleep easier knowing that we have saved another rig from premature death due to psu problems.

Of course, non of the advice is going to be followed, so I just wasted 5 mins of my life.

Just to let everyone know, i didn't buy nothing. Which was a smart choice, because i was about to go crazy and buy a whole bunch of stuff lol. So what i have decided to do is " sell my emachine Intel Pentium Dual core, Pentium D 2.6ghz computer " for 200 bucks. I am giving away the computer, along with a new dynex black keyboard and mouse and my Sapphire 4670 1GB GDDR3 card.

And in return i have some choices, check them out: KEEP IN MIND, this is to replace my intel pentium d 805 computer

Pentium E2210 OEM,
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0328752

Someone said on another forum to get this, because its way faster over my pentium d 805 computer:
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0326278

This gateway model
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0328750

I am really trying to keep it below 450 here. Because i am getting 200 back for the rig, so that way i will only have to spend a little bit for a new rig. Also i want to buy a GT240 this weekend finally to go with my new dual core. The GT240 is only 79 dollars, not at best buy tho.
What do you guys think is the best model i should get, should i just go cheap and buy the e2210.

The more expensive box is WAY better. Definitely better enough to justify the price tag.

Yea the AMD Athlon X2 7450 seems to be the best, it has SSE4 and L3 cache. Guess i will grab that one and that should fit right in with a GT240 this weekend :rockout:

That 7450 is slower than an e5200, which would be available cheaper and consume less electricity.
