Ok, So recently, well actually about a year ago, I baught these custom PC parts and i've put them together. So here come's the real question that i am in desperate need of, does anyone here know how to get this bootable usb and/or know how i can fix this. If u need more explanation of my problem, just let me know

1. disconnect the power cord
2. remove the battery from the motherboard its a small coin type gently pry it out with a small flathead
3. press the power button a few times then wait 5m
4. re-install the battery and reconnect the power cord
settings should be reset to the factory defaults if it still refuses to post with the new ram something else is wrong

do not do what this "friend" is suggesting I don't think he understands the difference between a bios flash and simply clearing the settings

SIGH>....
you never said if it works with the old ram installed or if it didn't work from day one then you have some issue withe the hardware

either you have damaged hardware or you have some compatibility issue the "technician" sounds like he didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground or Just didn't know what the issue was
FILL OUT YOUR SYSTEM Specs complete with Model Numbers of the motherboard,CPU,PSU,RAM,GPU ect ect ect

or you are gonna get no-ware
there is no "program" that`s gonna fix your issue here
the program in question is most likely a BIOS update for your board and that`s not gonna do you any good unless you can get the system to POST if it won't boot up to the bios setup screen you aren't gonna be doing anything with it and if you where unlucky enough to have a BIOS thats TOAST then no usb key on the planet is gonna help you unless you happen to have a board that has some kind of boot-block recovery witch I highly doubt ...

honestly it sounds like you have something that was DOA from day one and left it

Well from what the technician said he did. "test all items separately", he said all items were working individually. So... that's what has my head all in a mumble jungle. I'm confused as to what his diagnostic is.

order a NEW PSU both of those doesn't support that combination of board/CPU and its woefully underpowered/overated (doesn't have the EPS 8 pin connector witch you need) its also a garbage brand so its probably defective wattage isn't the only thing that matters QUALITY over Quantity is the name of the game just because it says super ultra mega cool 800W doesn't mean the PSU is worth the cost of shipping ...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031
that`s the most obvious problem any tech worth there salt would't have missed that so I am assuming he was either ripping you off or a idiot
also that cooler is boarder-line inadequate

Could you suggest what would be the best fit/combo for these parts? What else needs to be in sync other than the psu like you mentioned??

Read through the entire thread and here's my suggestion. Return that piece of turd psu back to where you bought it and get one from some reputable brand like Seasonic, Corsair, Chieftec or other brand that's been around for years. Or borrow a spare psu from your friends for testing purposes, i'm 100% sure it's the psu problem and as far as i know fx series cpu's are notoriously power hungry.
Just my 5 cents.

Your "Technician" is referring to a Live Boot USB (Parted Magic, BackTrack5, GParted), which will only work if the PC can POST and then boot through to the USB. As it stands, your system will not POST, so you're not going to get anywhere. It doesn't help that you bought a knockoff PSU that is suspect, doesn't have the correct connectors, and is likely to explode at the hint of an electrical surge. Once you have obtained a suitable 650W PSU, at least Bronze rated by a reputable manufacturer (many members here can recommend you some), you plug it in correctly and test it. In the event it still doesn't work, your motherboard is most likely suspect. In the event a PC won't POST and the PSU is not the issue, most of the time you can count it down to the motherboard.

If this so called technician has tested everything individually, we can hope it's down to a lack of connectors on the PSU. Though by the sounds of his troubleshooting skills, he hasn't tested anything at all.

In future, come on TPU and ask members for some help building a PC on a budget. What I see is a very imbalanced system.

I'm betting it's a RAM issue here. Not saying his PS isn't total junk, just look at that RAM first. That way he doesn't spend any money right away.

Take all the RAM out and go back to one stick of the original RAM and see if it boots..

That Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz ddr3 8gb(4x2gb) can be a tough one to get working for a greenhorn (not saying HE is but...)
If the old RAM lets the machine boot then start with one stick of the Corsair and try that.
If it boots, come back here and the good people here can help you from that point.
That Corsair RAM had some compatibility issues with certain MBs if I remember right. Speed and timings may have to be adjusted to get it to work.
Hey, that's my bet. Just sayin'.

Ok, so the last thing I want to do is spend more money on something that might up set me even more. Ive had this build sitting down for about a year now, I can't even use it, it sucks so much. If the great people of TPU can help me fix it, that'd be great to. Ill try the psu thing, it will take a while to get to me thp, shipping etc... thanks for everything everyone, you've given me some hope...

its a AM3+ board with a fx chip on some of those boards you need both 4 Pin connectors hooked up or it wont post
its not posting so he has know way of doing anything with it
@op no two ways about it you gotta have a quality psu you also need to edit your post and clarify that the machine has never worked ...

I am running multiple Fx rigs, with that said you need a good psu. Also if it won't post a usb stick is totally useless. Have the rig ever run? What was changed that brought up this problem? Even if the ram has the wrong settings it will still post. You just need to go into the bios and adjust the settings, ie. select xmp profile. If you have no post screen then a bios reset, flash isn't going to help you.

First to answer your question. Yes, it has never worked. Which is why im frustrated with it. Now, if you guys would agree on a recommendation of psu for me that would best fit this build. I'll order it tonight so I can get it quicker.
