no luck ebuyer said I should have noticed them before I installed the processor and notified them seeing I installed the processor they can't do anything about it, they put me through to Gigabyte and they want a photo before I send the motherboard to see if it can be repaired and they said their engineers would know whether it was my fault or not. not a happy bunny.

Yeah bent pins are a tough one. It's very hard to prove once you have put a CPU in the socket.

If all else fails you can try repairing them yourself. As long as you can get the positioning somewhat back to normal and none are broken off the board should still work. Speaking from personal experience.

Its never the same with a mobo, rma it to the manufacturer tell them you noticed a bent pin before you installed a cpu. That you might just need to cough up cash...

Hi I got in touch with Gigabyte and the wanted to see a picture of the pins and I got an answer back this morning that they think it can be sorted so I have to send it to them, keep your fingers crossed.

Hi phoned Gigabyte tech today to find out if they had received my motherboard and they told me that their tech people had fixed the pins and tested the board and it was working plus it has been despatched and I should receive it tomorrow.

Gigabyte is one of the best out there to deal with when doing a rma. I had one mobo manufacture that I had a real bad experience with and won't buy there products because of it.

Hi repaired motherboard installed with new i5 processor and new Hyper T4 cpu cooler and fresh install of win 7 and all updates, so far everything is working okay. whew

always recheck everything

i remember several years ago i built a pc, everything is fine but i forgot to plug the cpu fan cable. thank God my processor is fine
after that i always recheck before go further

I accidently tested an axp without a fan on the hsf. In 30 min it did shut off due to thermal protection lol

The one thing so far I have found that I will need time to get used to is the onboard sound ( SoundBlaster X-Fi MB3) but I must thank Gigabyte Tech for repairing the pins all it cost me was postage where as Ebuyer left me having to buy a new motherboard. so far a happy bunnie.
