Hi everone,

I hope you can help me with that.

My PC
I7 3820
Asus P9X79
G-Skill Ares 1600 CL-9-9-9-24 1.5v 4*4 GB
Asus GTX 670 Direct CU II (Stock frequency)
Antec 850 True Power Quarto (Bronze)
Crucial 240 GB M550
WD 2TB Green

As you can see all specs are on ideal frequencies and I never did overclock, nut suddenly the PC going nuts.

games not run or crash then windows itself crashed and BSODs with no reason.

I tried
Swap Vga with GTS 450
Swap Rams with Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1333 and Kingston 2 GB 1333
Swap PSU with Corsair TX650W
Remove SSD and then HDD and SSD together.

even install my Ram and VGA on another AMD system (and worked fine with Prime95 and Furmark but ram runs on 1333mhz)

Furmark works fine alone or with Memetest 86 but when run Prime95 with it then BSOD.

Can you help me with suggestions or what is the source of the problem because I am afraid to buy new PSU or CPU or Board and boun the problem was with another hardware.

Waiting for your replies and many thanks in advance for your help.

What are your temps?

Have you tried a system restore to the last time it was stable? Maybe a reformat/reinstall would clear things up.

What is the BSOD stop code? This could tell if its hardware or software related.

First at all many thanks to all of you for helping me

If you already swapped your PSU and had the same problem, I don't see a need to buy another.

What are your temps?

Am only afraid that the swapped PSU is not good enough for the specs, Temps are normal CPU under stress 52-55 / GPU under stress 71-73

What is the BSOD stop code? This could tell if its hardware or software related.

About that I received a lot of many BSODs with many different codes like:
- one with no codes but give Stop: 0x0000007E
- APC_INDEX_MISMATCH - Stop: 0x00000001
- SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION - Stop:0x0000003B
- BAD_POOL_CALLER - Stop:0x000000C2

Check CPU <-> heatsink thermal paste. Sometimes it dries up into dust.

I tried this one although the temps was good and just one day away I applied Arctic Silver 5

agreed, did you check out the temps?
cooler? which one are you using?

Regards,

The temps are natural and the and my is heatsink Thermaltake Frio

Have you tried a system restore to the last time it was stable? Maybe a reformat/reinstall would clear things up.

I tried to reinstall new Windows several times but nothing changed

I agreed with you but I swap the Card with less power using one (GTS 450) but not working either even after changed the PCI slot.
and I put the GTX 670 into another AMD system and it worked find under stress

Many thanks again for every one of you.

Back the ram down from 1600 to 1333, and boost the ram voltage from 1.50 to 1.55 ... any change? Pop out half of the ram, any change?

I would run chkdsk on C: select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows-vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Then open command prompt as admin and run sfc /scannow

Then run crystal disk info and look for bad sectors

http://sourceforge.jp/projects/crys...talDiskInfo5_6_2Shizuku.zip/?use_mirror=jaist

Then maybe even scan for malware

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/confirm/

I'd seriously look into 64bit windows too, the board is quad channel and would probably run better with the ram slot populated.
Not sure if 2 sticks is enough

He currently has 4 x 4GB sticks, so that would be quad channel already if placed correctly.

I am so happy to hear that from you , it means that the CPU will live :). I tried and installed more than one copy of Windows and no changes then lately it doesn't gave me chance to enter Windows installation page.

I will try another Windows copy and let you know.

I've had RAM pass memtest and still be faulty

So you mean that it could be RAM, but I swapped them with another sticks and even I ran them on another system and no problem on the other system.

Back the ram down from 1600 to 1333, and boost the ram voltage from 1.50 to 1.55 ... any change? Pop out half of the ram, any change?

I tried to get them back to 1333 and 1066 but never changed the voltage.
it works with me for one time on 1333 then I installed new Windows but it get back again to BSOD when new Windows installed.

That was my point, it may be the drivers, not the card.

So you mean to install outdated driver version and try again?

I would run chkdsk on C: select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

Thanks man, I ran chkdsk and gave me no errors.

I will try other suggestions

Sometimes it only takes a driver re-install or reverting back to a previous version to get things to run right.
Follow through with the other directions for SFC/Scannow etc and see how things go.

Try re-flashing your motherboard's BIOS, perhaps it's corrupt and/or got a nasty virus.

Forgive me for my ignorance :) but what you mean with (SFC/Scannow) is it some kind of registry checking tool? , if yes do you have clean link to download it?.

I tried to do so and tried to backward Bios but problem still exist.

any other thoughts?

I forgot to tell you that now am not have any access for the Windows or install new one (sorry for that), so I believe it is hardware issue.

Do you think it is motherboard or RAM slots? and how I make sure about it?

Have you re-seated your CPU recently? If so, use a bright LED and check for damaged pins (cpu and the socket). Other than that, the cheapest route would be to pick up another main board considering what you have already tried.

I will check today the pins, but considered to all what happened is it must be the Motherboard or could it be from the PSU (considering that the Antec PSU is 5 years old and Corsair 650 is barely handling the equipment)?

I am only afraid to buy new one which is not cheap (unfortunately). Then does not solve the issue o_O.

Thank you P4-630 for the link

Most of those errors are Windows kernel or driver related errors so I think it is most likely a windows error, but quite possibly related to your memory but on a software level, I see you have only 2GB, first thing I would do is take a look at your page file information and see what virtual memory is allocated, then open up task manager and see what's actually being used and if you have any processes running that are particularly memory hungry, then I would try re-installing your Motherboards chipset drivers closely followed by a re-install of windows!

Have you re-seated your CPU recently? If so, use a bright LED and check for damaged pins (cpu and the socket). Other than that, the cheapest route would be to pick up another main board considering what you have already tried.

I wouldn't believe that so quickly. Why would the PC work for years than suddenly start having issues with BSOD codes that are all software related?

Personally, I would get everything backed up and re-install Windows. I'm willing to bet if the OP threw in a Linux LiveCD (or USB drive) and booted his machine with Linux, it would run fine. I suspect, as many others have stated, that this is a driver related issue.

When exactly does the tower crash? When you open the game and never when Windows is just sitting there doing nothing? Before re-installing Windows, you can try using something like driver sweeper to remove the GPU drivers, update the X79 chipset drivers, then try installing your GPU drivers again.

Intel Chipset Software (2015-03-13) can be found here.

If that all fails, nothing can be more enlightening than re-installing Windows.

That is what am saying it is very weird to do that after these years of perfectly working.
I will give a try for Linux.

But for reinstalling drivers it'll not work coz I cannot open windows right now it's BSOD once it start windows.

The tower start crashes about 1 and half month. Without any reason crash for sometimes then after several tires open again I even removed some USB connected items, then started crash into the games.
And finally it kept crash rapidly till I tried to install new Windows and make some stress on GPU and CPU on the same time.

Thank you Tatty_One for your advice, sorry for the misunderstanding happened, it says on my Member page that I have 2 GB only but actually that was my another old PC my current PC which have the problem is
I7 3820
Asus P9X79
G-Skill Ares 1600 CL-9-9-9-24 1.5v 4*4 GB
Asus GTX 670 Direct CU II (Stock frequency)
Antec 850 True Power Quarto (Bronze)
Crucial 240 GB M550
WD 2TB Green

But I will check if it possible to do the chipset update or the windows will not load again

It would be very unusual, but might it be possible something has happened to the memory controller on the CPU? I'm not good at the stuff inside CPUs, so I probably horribly wrong, but it's a guess.

Also, I would try a 64-bit windows. It can't hurt to have a copy.
