IE 11 | Chrome certificate error

When I try to visit any secure website with the two aforementioned browsers, I get a certificate error. To my knowledge; it didn't start until I moved their shortcut into a folder. Firefox and Opera behave normally. Is there a way to correct this issue?

It's all set fine. Is there any way to flush out security certificates and start over?

Thats not the issue the certification isnt the issue something is wrong with the machine. try resetting the security settings in both IE and chrome. in chrome just do a reset.

in IE go to the gear>internet options> Security Tab>Click Reset all zones to default> Privacy tab> Click default>Advanced Tab>Restore advanced settings> Hit apply and exit IE

also you are SURE your time zone is also correct?? 90% of this problem is windows time.

I did reset them both to no avail. I'm sure my time zone is set properly, I live in Michigan (Eastern Standard). FireFox, Opera, and Comodo Dragon all work perfectly fine. This is the error message I am getting with Chrome. Also, it looks as if there's no certificates.

can you uninstall and re-install chrome? I would export your bookmarks first and check the box remove browsing data. It almost sounds like the installation is corrupt. It should re-issue certs immediately.

this is driving me nuts. If that doesn't work their is a possibility that your root cert chain is damaged. if thats the case look here.

Well, I tried updating Windows (28 updates), nada. Reinstalled Google Chrome and the issue has not gone away. When I viewed the certificate, it looks like Avast is issuing it. I do not have any add-ons available. I'll probably have to dig real deep to fix this. Don't let it drive you nuts, lol. I might end up formatting.

Well, it looks like it's fixed. All I had to do was disable HTTPS scanning in Avast web shield. Not sure how all of a sudden the problem emerged
