IE 7.0 stops responding when accessing yahoo & more.

I have Windows Xp SP2, i have had IE 6.0 and 7.0 however for some reason when i type in yahoo or even google yahoo.com and click on the page it loads like 2 seconds of the page and then IE stops responding, however i can access yahoo mail. it does this only to certain web sites.
heres what i tried already
1) Both Ie 6 and 7 versions
2) Installed Java, Active X, Shockwave, etc. nothing worked
3) set browser deafaults
4) changed to stock clock setting on cpu
cant firgure out why is stops responding after like 2 seconds of the page loaded
please help

Could this be MS response to Y! not letting them buy them? Block Y! from all searchs. If that is in one bit remotely true i will eat my hat, and rofl. Litterally rofl.

But seriously, try the good old scans first.

i have mcafee 2008, and yes scan has already been done, and how would that explain a not responding IE only on certain pages. msn.com,yahoo.com, but theres a bunch of pages that do not freeze up. :wtf:

no idea mate - have you tired firefox to eliminate your end, could well be there end, could just be yahoo updating servers. these things happen.

i dont want anymore problems ill stay away from firefox :roll:

flush the dns? start...run....ipconfig /flushdns

EDIT. if done correctly you will just get a flash of a command prompt window..... retry browser!

Ok, if you don't like FF, try the latest Opera build, it's only to make sure that it is actually IE at fault, and not a server issue. If Opera or FF doesn't respond, then you know it's not IEs fault.

I can get onto all those sites fine though.

is this equivalant to ipconfig /renew?

i will try that out though, i am 100% postive its not a server issue its on my end.

I think /renew is to renew the ip, /flush clears all the old files that may cause a hang on sites!
